It’s important that accounting professionals understand how to classify digital assets, track fluctuating prices, choose which approach to best use for valuation, have a clear understanding on financial reporting and disclosures, and how to actually report different crypto transactions.

    Mark is the founder and leader of the firm's Digital Assets practice, focusing on addressing the unique needs of Citrin Cooperman clients in the digital asset space. Mark DiMichael is a partner in the Forensic, Litigation, and Valuation Services group as well.

    Mark's deep understanding of the digital asset industry allows him to assist clients such as mining companies, investors, investment funds, ICO/IEO token issuers, NFT marketplaces / promoters / artists, and financial services companies with a wide range of accounting, tax, and advisory issues.

    Mark's areas of expertise include divorce litigation, economic damages analysis, fraud investigation, white collar criminal defense, and business appraisals. Mark has prepared and rebutted expert reports, and has experience working with companies in a wide range of industries. He has also provided deposition and expert testimony numerous times in federal court, state court, and arbitrations.

    Mark earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York, a Certified Cryptocurrency Forensic Investigator, Certified in Financial Forensics, Accredited in Business Valuation, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

    Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and a former chairperson for the NYSSCPA’s Digital Asset, Litigation Services, and Consulting Oversight committees.

    Mark regularly teaches CPE/CLE classes on digital assets and cryptocurrency, covering topics such as fraud, tax, accounting, investigation, and industry developments. He has also taught CPE/CLE classes on topics such as forensic accounting, divorce, and economic damages.

    Mark has been featured in or quoted in media including Forbes, Financial Advisor Magazine, www.bankrate.com, Hidden Forces Podcast, NextGen Magazine, the Trusted Professional, and www.modernconsensus.com.

    His previous honors include the NYSSCPA’s ’40 Under 40’ Award and the AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services ‘Standing Ovation Recognition.’

    Gabriela Rodas is a manager in the firm’s Business Management Family Office Practice. She has over 15 years of experience providing business management, accounting, and tax services to a wide range of clients in entertainment, media, and sports industries, including athletes, agents, artists, actors, musicians, writers, managers, directors, and producers.

    Gabby is an active member in the firm’s Entertainment, Music, and Sports Practice, as well as the Digital Assets Practice. As a Web3 enthusiast, she is a member of Surge and Web3 equity communities, where she helps to educate and onboard women in Web3.

    Gabby earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California Riverside. She is a DEI Advocate and earned her Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from eCornell.
