OVERVIEW

Greg Kyte and Caleb Newquist, the creators of the true crime podcast Oh My Fraud, will unpack two of their favorite fraud cases. Both cases involve accounting fraud; one of the cases may or may not also involve murder. (It does.) Additionally, Brad Muniz will be offering an A&A update.

DESIGNED FOR

CPAs in public accounting or in industry

BENEFITS

After attending this course, attendees will be able to identify the behavioral red flags of fraud that existed in each case, label the common characteristics associated with fraudsters that were evident in the two cases and explore the internal controls that could have helped prevent or detect the frauds.

HIGHLIGHTS

In this engaging, conversational and unconventional presentation, Greg and Caleb will give a broad overview of the impact of occupational fraud on the economy and the accounting profession. They will explore the red-flag behaviors most commonly associated with fraud and the personal characteristics most commonly associated with fraudsters. Two case studies will be examined to analyze how the real-world victims of fraud could have either prevented it or detected it earlier.
