How Does New Jersey’s Tax Burden Compare to Other States?
Regina M. Egea – Garden State Initiative
The Garden State Initiative focuses on research and policy changes aimed towards growing NJ’s economy by improving government performance and reducing the tax burden. GSI’s most recent research, Adding It All Up: An Impartial Look at NJ’s $117 Billion Government, focuses on the total size of New Jersey’s expansive government, how much is being spent in specific categories and identifying areas to make it more efficient. By comparing New Jersey to other states, GSI demonstrates that we do not have to sacrifice service in order to lower government costs.
