Leaders Council Organizes 16th Annual Drive
—
ROSELAND, N.J. – The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has launched its sixteenth annual food drive to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). Organized by the NJCPA’s Emerging Leaders Council, the food drive will accept both physical and online donations at the NJCPA, various member offices and other participating locations throughout the state now through Nov. 14.
The Community FoodBank, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, works with more than 800 community partners, including food pantries and shelters, in 15 counties in the state. It provides more than 90 million meals through its network annually. Nearly 12% of all New Jerseyans are food insecure and nearly 19% of children in South Jersey face hunger, according to the FoodBank.
Financial donations can be made online at njcpa.org/fooddrive. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the office locations listed below unless specified as online only or at the NJCPA at 105 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite 300, in Roseland by appointment (contact Susan Dyer at sdyer@njcpa.org). In 2024, the NJCPA collected more than 2,300 pounds of nonperishable items and canned goods and more than $22,000 in online contributions. Since 2010, the NJCPA has donated nearly 30,000 pounds of food and non-perishable items to the FoodBank.
“We all can have a hand in reducing hunger in New Jersey. The Food Drive is a great reminder of how every little bit helps, whether it's in donations or giving of one's time," said Joseph Hunt, CPA, PSA, manager in the nonprofit group at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) LLP and chair of the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council.
“We look forward to having members participate again in this year’s food drive. CPAs and finance professionals by nature play such an important role in serving their clients, organizations and communities. These programs remind us that we can all play a part in reducing food insecurity,” said Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, MA, IOM, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.
