ANCHOR Payments to Begin Sept. 15
–
September 9, 2026
The New Jersey Division of Taxation provided the following update today regarding ANCHOR property tax relief payments:
ANCHOR payments start September 15 and will continue on a rolling basis, with most applicants receiving payment within 90 days unless additional information is required.
We will file on behalf of most eligible homeowners who are under 65, not collecting Social Security disability/Railroad Retirement disability benefits, as well as most eligible renters of all ages. We sent those residents their ANCHOR Benefit Confirmation Letter in August with details of the upcoming filing.
If you received last year's ANCHOR benefit by direct deposit, the Division will use the same banking information to deposit your 2025 benefit. If you receive a letter and need to change your banking information, or prefer to request a paper check, you must file an application on your own with updated information by September 15, 2026.
If you did not receive a letter and are eligible to apply, you may file an Application for Property Tax Relief on your own.
