In her role as Employment Counsel for MEA, Ciana advises employers and human resource professionals regarding compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws; the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); state wage and hour laws; and regulations promulgated by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Department of Labor (DOL). She frequently speaks on various employment law topics, and in the wake of the #MeToo movement has shared her anti-harassment expertise on various panels and TV outlets.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, her career has included working as an attorney for Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC; Rubin, Fortunato & Harbison, P.C.; and Saul Ewing LLP.
Ciana is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources. She is a former Member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania, and American Bar Association; and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
