| Michael J. Bryan, CPA was appointed Director of the New Jersey Division of Taxation on July 12, 2010. He is a tax and accounting professional with more than 25 years of private and public sector experience. As the Director he oversees a staff of more than 1,400 who are responsible for the administration, enforcement and collection of 42 individual and business tax types in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Bryan is committed to making the Division of Taxation a high performance agency driven by efficiency, accountability, transparency and taxpayer fairness.
Prior to joining the State of New Jersey Mr. Bryan worked as a revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service, as a senior associate at Coopers & Lybrand and Senior Director, Tax Controversy at Comcast Corporation for 16 years.
Mr. Bryan is a CPA and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Drexel University and a MBA in Taxation from Temple University.
