Director, Enterprise Risk & Quantitative Advisory

Dave is a member of the Enterprise Risk & Quantitative Advisory practice unit, with more than 25 years of experience as an environmental, safety, and sustainability program manager. His areas of expertise include leading environmental, social, and governance (ESG) program development and energy efficiency initiatives, helping minimize company environmental and safety risks, and leveraging information technology to improve ESG performance. Prior to coming to the firm, he managed environmental, safety, and sustainability programs for companies in the mining, manufacturing, and energy sectors, where he was instrumental in reducing operational environmental impacts through energy efficiency projects and creating effective processes for continual ESG improvement. Dave is a licensed Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM®) and Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®). He is a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a B.S. degree in environmental engineering, and a graduate of Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois, with an M.B.A. degree with an emphasis in organizational theory.

Dirk is an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) leader for the FORVIS Enterprise Risk & Quantitative Advisory Practice. He has more than 25 years of experience working in the energy and transportation industries’ operations and financial systems. His background includes leading ESG program development and strategic energy transition initiatives, helping improve operations performance and risk management processes, and leveraging information technology and business process improvement to help improve efficiency and quality. He is a frequent speaker on ESG topics and climate-related risks and opportunities for several professional organizations and universities, including the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). Dirk is also a knowledgeable professional in finance, investor relations, and operations management. Prior to coming to FORVIS, Dirk spent 20 years with one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America where, under his leadership, their ESG rating improved from 80th to first out of 185 companies in their industry group. Before that, he spent six years at an engineering firm in their water, environment, and energy consulting practices, and two years at a research institute in their hydrologic sciences division. He is a licensed professional geologist and a member of the AICPA and the Project Management Institute. Dirk is a graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder, with a B.A. degree in environmental conservation and political science, a graduate of University of Nevada, Reno, with an M.S. degree in hydrology/hydrogeology, and a graduate of University of Denver, Colorado, with an M.B.A. degree with an emphasis on marketing and an M.S. degree in finance.
Managing Consultant, Enterprise Risk & Quantitative Advisory
Steve is a member of the Financial Services Practice and the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) team. He has more than six years of experience providing audit and consulting services to both publicly traded and privately held organizations, including banks, universities, nonprofits, and commercial companies. He participates in FORVIS’ innovation efforts for accounting, audit, and consulting. He has participated in an internal innovation tournament aimed at creating and developing new services to better serve clients using cutting-edge, evolving technologies and has submitted multiple ideas to the firm’s innovation program. Steve is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and COCPA. He is also a Certified Financial Services Auditor® (CFSA®) and an FSA (Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting) Credential holder. He is a member of the COCPA ESG Working Group and a former board member of a charter school. He is also a writer and speaker on ESG topics and climate-related risks and opportunities. Steve is a 2015 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, with a B.S. degree in accountancy with a minor in political science and an M.Acc. degree.
