HIGHLIGHTS

Uneven Playing Field: States are Using Technology in Multistate Audits to Get an Edge Over Taxpayers
Nishant Mittal – MONAEO
Advances in technology allow states like New York to identify nonresidential taxpayers who owe taxes. Sophisticated applications built by large technology companies give the government an advantage over taxpayers, many of whom still rely on spreadsheets. Delve into use of technology in residency and nonresident payroll withholding audits to see how taxpayers can level the playing field with aggressive tax authorities.
