Banning Non-Compete Clauses

This legislation would ban non-compete clauses in employment contracts. These covenants are important because they prohibit former employees from unfairly working for a competitor or starting a business and gaining competitive advantage. They also protect against former employees exploiting confidential information about their former employer's operations or trade secrets or sensitive information such as customer/client lists, business practices, upcoming products and marketing plans.
