He is a leading sales and use tax specialist and developed trusted relationships with New Jersey and New York state government officials. He is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and the NJCPA as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Neil Becourtney, CPA, is a partner at CohnReznick. With expertise in representing clients facing tax examinations by the Internal Revenue Service, as well as state taxing authorities, he heads up the firm’s Tax Controversies Group. A regularly writer on tax subjects, Mr. Becourtney regularly monitors federal and state tax developments and frequently presents tax seminars. An active member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA) for many years, Mr. Becourtney is a past chairperson of the NJSCPA New Jersey Taxation committee and is currently a member of its Editorial Advisory Board. Mr. Becourtney graduated from SUNY Albany in 1982 with a bachelor’s of science in accounting and earned a master’s of science degree in taxation from Pace University in 1986.

She has over ten years of professional experience in advising clients concerning various sales & use tax matters, including nexus reviews, process planning, exposure quantification analysis, ASC 450 reserve analysis, voluntary disclosure agreements, due diligence, technical advisory opinions, ruling requests, audit mitigation, reverse audits, compliance reviews, and outsourcing. She manages client’s complex state and local tax issues that arise in various industries, including cryptocurrency, healthcare, technology, retail, financial services, utilities, hospitality, entertainment, real estate, telecommunications, theater, construction, and manufacturing.

Susmano has her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her Master’s in Business Administration from the Weather School of Management.
