Volunteer Opportunities

NJCPA provides CPAs in New Jersey with opportunities to create impact and give back to the community. Whether you are looking to develop professionally or help a community in need, our volunteer opportunities allow you to leverage your CPA credential for the benefit of others.

Looking to develop and share your professional expertise or point of view in support of the profession? Consider speaking at one of our numerous conferences or events, writing content for our print and digital publications, or serving on a committee or interest group.

Or, if you would like to help communities in need, we have project-based or day-long service events that afford you the opportunity to support a cause alongside a fellow CPA.

Provide Free Tax Assistance

August 22, 2024

Every year, Norwescap teams up with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and other community partners, to provide free tax preparation for poverty-level community members, seniors and people with disabilities, in our Warren and Sussex County regions. VITA is the number-one anti-poverty tool in the U.S. Last year the refund total in the U.S. was $512 billion and the Norwescap VITA refund total was over $800,000. These funds assist community members with their financial stability.

Volunteers are essential to this vital service! No experience is necessary and free training is provided to ready volunteers to prepare both federal and state tax returns. Volunteer opportunities include, tax preparer, greeter/intake specialist and tax appointment scheduler.
