OVERVIEW

Understanding the impact of employment laws when working with employees is both challenging and confusing. Most company policies are based on federal or state laws. The enforcement and interpretation of policies need to be consistent and fair. Participants will learn the basics of employment law and how they affect employment best practices, and specifically, the interview process. They will learn techniques to help control the interview and discover the hidden talents of applicants.

Susan Redding

Susan Redding, M.B.A., SPHR

Susan draws upon 20 years of professional experience in program design and delivery. She works with MEA’s 500 plus member companies to enhance their systems and improve their business results. Her experience includes training and consulting for CIGNA International, Canon Financial and Temple Health Systems. Her expertise is in partnering with leaders of organizations to develop in-house talent and to strategically affect corporate culture. Individuals and organizations have benefited from her high impact approach to training, instructional design and interactive facilitation skills. She has designed and implemented various programs in leadership, emotional intelligence, customer service, interpersonal skills and conflict management, just to name a few.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Delaware and her Masters Degree in Management from LaSalle University. She has taught at the university level and has spoken at various SHRM, ATD and Chamber organizations. She prides herself on keeping her participants engaged and motivated to learn. She recently just earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) accreditation and enjoys teaching in the Human Resource Area as well. She is currently enrolled to obtain her Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).
