Brian Loveland

Brian Loveland is a tax manager with more than seven years of experience in public accounting. In his current role, Mr. Loveland leads provision and compliance work on manufacturing & distribution clients and large corporations. He has worked with life sciences, manufacturing & distribution, construction, retail & consumer products, and restaurant industry clients, as well as large multinational clients. Mr. Loveland has experience in ASC 740 tax quarterly and yearend tax provision calculation; federal, state and international tax compliance; sales and use tax and payroll projects. He has also worked on various specialty projects, including fixed asset and cost segregation studies, state NOL valuation allowance modeling, state nexus studies and limited R&D credit calculation. Prior to joining BDO, Brian worked for both a regional and national tax consulting firm.

Marla Miller

Marla Miller, CPA, MBA, J.D., LL.M.

Marla Miller is a member of BDO's Fixed Asset Advisory Services group and provides consulting services in the areas of Fixed Asset Reviews and Capital vs. Expense Reviews to both multinational and domestic companies in various industries, including financial services, retail, real estate, food and beverage, and heavy and light manufacturing.

Ms. Miller has more than twenty years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She also provides consulting services in fixed asset conversions, merger and acquisition reconciliations, and was the project leader to reconcile the tax fixed asset ledger during a restatement for a Fortune 100 company. She also has extensive experience in handling IRS examinations, including IRS Joint Committee and Federal appeals cases.

Marla recieved both her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from Penn State University - The Dickinson School of Law. She received an M.B.A. and B.S.B.A. in Accounting from Shippensburg University.

Len Nitti, a Principal at Wilkin & Guttenplan P.C., joined the firm in 1999. Len has a broad range of clientele including closely-held businesses, high net worth individuals, professional athletes, and real estate entities, including affordable housing, green energy incentives, and urban real estate.

Len’s knowledge in Federal and State taxation extends far beyond the compliance aspect and encompasses planning, research and problem solving. His major areas of concentration in taxation include real estate, partnership, and state and local tax.

Len is a frequent speaker on these topics to CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals through both in-house sessions and seminars sponsored by other organizations. Most recently, Len taught a 7 week class on Real Estate Accounting and Taxation at Monmouth University.

His expertise also includes structuring complex transactions, coordinating voluntary disclosure agreements, exit strategies for real estate owners and identifying tax savings opportunities and other financial incentives for his clients.

Eric Salant

Eric Salant, Esq. is Director of Business Development for Capital 1031 Exchange Company, LLC and Capital Real Estate IRA, LLC. He has over 15 years experience in facilitating tax deferred exchanges, both as an attorney and Qualified Intermediary and brings this experience to working with Capital’s clients. His has almost 20 years experience as an attorney working on commercial transactions and transactional real estate, representing businesses and individuals in residential and commercial transactions; project development; financing; and acquisitions and transfers of business and real property assets.

Mr. Slanat has spoken and lectured extensively on 1031 Exchanges before attorneys, accountants and Realtors for various professional and trade organizations. He offers practical real world experience assisting Capital’s clients in achieving successful tax deferred exchanges. He received his BS in Marketing and Finance, magna cum laude, from the University at Albany, and his JD from St. John’s University. At St. John’s, Mr. Salant was the student Editor in Chief of the New York Real Property Law Journal, a publication of the Real Property Committee of the New York State Bar Association. He was also a member and active on committees of the Real Property Section of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the St. John’s University Law School Alumni Association. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York.
