Monica H. Kaden, ASA, ABV, CHFP, MBA, is the managing director of business valuations at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA). She is an accredited senior appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers. She specializes in valuations of health care entities and businesses in connection with matrimonial and shareholder litigation, estate and gift tax valuations, selling and buying business interests, and mergers and acquisitions. For litigation matters, Monica prepares and issues reports; she critiques other experts; assists in settlement negotiations; and testifies in connection with business valuations, commercial litigation, forensic accounting and lost profits analyses. Ms. Kaden started her career as a commercial lender for a large British Bank from 1989 to 1992. In 1995 she joined a Big Four CPA firm in the corporate finance group performing valuations primarily for purchase price allocations associated with acquisitions, and valuing intangible assets such as patents and proprietary technology. She has worked for large regional New Jersey accounting firms for twenty years specializing in business valuation and lost profits analyses. Monica has lectured on valuation topics to the senior management of a Federal lending institution, the New Jersey Society of CPAs, the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, the AICPA Litigation Support Mega Conference, the Academy of Women Accountants and law firms. In 2013, she was a mediator volunteer for the Morris County Family Court Blue Ribbon mediation panel. Monica also completed the training for collaborative law professionals. Ms. Kaden received a bachelor’s from Brandeis University and a master’s of business administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She majored in corporate finance and accounting. She graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Monica is a trustee of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, a member of the Regional Advisory Board of Investors Bank, Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American society of Appraisers, New Jersey Chapter Medical Group Management Association, New Jersey Chapter Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Morris county Chamber of Commerce.
