Professional Issues/Society Update (1-2 hours)
Ralph Thomas, NJCPA Executive Director, addresses the professional landscape in New Jersey and across the nation. The presentation covers critical New Jersey legislative and regulatory matters, such as mandatory audit firm rotation, appeal bond caps and news from the State Board of Accountancy. Additionally, Ralph presents national issues impacting New Jersey CPAs, such as federal regulation of tax preparers, financial reform, the Blue Ribbon Panel on private company financial reporting, IFRS and other important topics.

Don Meyer, NJCPA Communications and Marketing Director, covers critical, but often overlooked business communications tools, such as presentation skills, networking and the do-and-don'ts of electronic communication.
