New Jersey Society of CPAs Honors Michael Polito with its 2022 Lifetime Leader Award

ROSELAND, N.J. – The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is pleased to announce that Michael A. Polito, CPA, retired partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP of Parsippany, is the recipient of the 2022 Lifetime Leader award. The Lifetime Leader category of the NJCPA Ovation Awards celebrates the outstanding NJCPA member who is credited with extraordinary contributions to the accounting profession over the course of their career. The individual has numerous professional achievements, noteworthy community service, steadfast determination and model leadership, making the recipient a truly exceptional, lifetime leader.

Mike has a long tradition with the NJCPA, having served as president for the 2001/02 term, on the Board of Trustees and as a chair of the Finance Committee, New Jersey Uniform Accountancy Bill Committee and Professional Conduct Committee. He has played an integral role in writing and teaching the NJCPA ethics course since inception in 2002. He has helped raise more than $500,000 for the NJCPA Scholarship Fund, where a scholarship is awarded annually in his name.

Throughout the years, Mike has always been one to give his time and energy to inform CPAs about issues that are important to the profession while also creating ways colleagues can connect,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.
