Frustrated with IRS Service Levels?
Numerous members have reached out to the NJCPA expressing frustration with IRS service levels. The complaints range from the inability to connect with the IRS, to the lack of IRS’ response to written communications to, of course, overdue refunds.
Rock-bottom IRS service levels are a widespread issue that we and the AICPA have been working on for some time. The AICPA has had ongoing conversations with the IRS, Treasury and members of Congress, and we’ve partnered with other organizations that feel just as passionate as we do to get this resolved. The AICPA’s Sept. 23 Town Hall meeting — a special edition on tax — covered the frustration that many members are experiencing with IRS service levels and the work that the profession is doing.
