Gov. Murphy Signs Legislation to Increase Transparency of Higher Education Costs

Last week, Governor Murphy signed S1877, NJCPA-supported legislation that requires higher education institutions to provide more transparency on costs for current and prospective students.

Colleges in New Jersey will be required to provide students with a “shopping sheet” that will give students information on costs, loan options and estimated debt.

The NJCPA supports several student loan relief and transparency bills, including one that was drafted by our Student Loan Debt Task Force. To see all NJCPA priority legislation, including the student loan bills, visit our Legislative Action Center.
