New Jersey State Offices Update

The following is an update on New Jersey state offices:

  • The New Jersey Division of Taxation has relocated operations from 50 Barrack Street, Trenton, to 3 John Fitch Plaza, Trenton. Additionally, the Conference and Appeals Branch (CAB), Field Audit and the Office of Criminal Investigation (OCI) has moved from Quakerbridge Plaza, Hamilton, to 3 John Fitch Plaza, Trenton.
  • The Division's Trenton Regional Information Center is the only location open to the public, and service is by appointment only. All other offices are closed to the public at this time. Visitors must wear a face covering, follow social distancing guidelines and complete a COVID-19 health assessment questionnaire before receiving any in-person service.
  • The state is taking a phased approach to bringing the full complement of state employees back to their offices. What was called "Phase 2" started July 12 with a hybrid model (an A/B schedule) that allowed for adequate social distancing/limited staff on any given day in the office. "Phase 3" - all employees on-site, no remote work - was scheduled to commence on Sept. 7, but that date was pushed back to Monday, Oct. 18 in an effort to promote more robust uptake of vaccinations among the staff. Of course, this can change again, depending on the prevalence of COVID-19 in New Jersey. Field personnel (investigators, auditors, local property tax representatives) are making visits to taxpayer locations.
  • On Aug. 23, Governor Murphy announced that all state employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 18, 2021,or be subject to COVID-19 testing at minimum of one to two times per week.
