IssuesWatch Live: Coronavirus Tax and Business Update and Q&A

  • During this free Facebook Live event on Friday, March 27 at 10 a.m., NJCPA's Ralph Albert Thomas and Jeff Kaszerman will provide updates on issues important to CPAs and businesses. They'll focus on what's happening both in New Jersey and at the national level. And you'll have the opportunity to submit your questions.

New Jersey Tax Update

  • Still no announcement about a tax filing extension in New Jersey. We are continuing to push for an answer and have been assured there will be an extension, we just don't know what the date will be. We will share any news as soon as we get it.
  • In non-coronavirus-related news, the state has posted a fillable 2019 corporate business tax return.

Federal Tax Update

  • The IRS announced a sweeping series of steps to provide relief for those impacted by COVID-19, including suspending installment agreement payments as well as changes to collection activities, liens and levies.
