NJCPA Mourns the Passing of Bob Garrity

It is with much sadness that we relay the news of former NJCPA Executive Director Robert (Bob) L. Garrity’s passing on Jan. 13. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Ruth; daughter, Maureen Price, NJCPA business development specialist; and the rest of his children, grandchildren and extended family.

We remember Bob for his warm smile, inviting personality and keen leadership at the NJCPA. In 1996, he retired after more than 24 years of service as executive director. Named as an “honorary past president,” Bob was a key driver of enhancing membership services and dedicated himself to furthering the accounting profession’s reputation among legislators.

Bob was an avid golfer and attended many NJCPA meetings, social gatherings and leadership events. He will be sorely missed.
