NJ Sales Tax Audit & Refund Specialists (NJSTARS) is a boutique tax firm founded and operated by a former NJ Division of Taxation Auditor, Victor P. Treglia, CPA. Upon graduation from Rider University, Victor commenced a career in State Taxation by accepting an Auditor position with the Division. During the next 27 years of service, Victor conducted, managed and completed hundreds of business tax audits (Field Audits) of companies within all industries, of all sizes and encompassing all of the NJ Division of Taxation's primary business taxes. While Victor's expertise is focused primarily in NJ Sales and Use Tax, he is also very knowledgeable in all of the Division's additional business taxes that are typically audited at the Field Audit level. Generally, these taxes include the NJ Corporation Business Tax (CBT), NJ Gross Income Tax (GIT), as well as a host of other miscellaneous types of taxes.

In May of 2006, Victor founded NJ Sales Tax Consultants now trading as NJ Sales Tax Audit & Refund Specialists. Since then, Victor has successfully represented hundreds of business entities and their stakeholders. While Audit Representation & Defense (including reverse auditing) and Sales & Use Tax Refunds are certainly the firm's primary focus, numerous other types of engagements have also been successfully completed including Audit Assessment Reviews, Conference Hearings/Protests, Tax Court Appeals, Compliance Reviews, Voluntary Disclosure Agreements, Closing Agreements, Abatement Requests, Private Letter Rulings, Dispute Resolution, Nexus Determinations and Product & Service Tax Matrices to name a few.
