Joseph Procopio

Joseph F. Procopio, CPA

Philadelphia Department of Revenue

Joseph Procopio Jr., MS, CPA is a Tax and Revenue Conferee Supervisor responsible for the management of the technical staff of the City of Philadelphia's Department of Revenue. Mr. Procopio has served in the Technical Staff since May 1993. Prior to his joining the Technical Staff, Mr. Procopio was attached to the Department's Executive Office where he worked on several special projects. He also spent several years in the Audit Division as an office and field auditor.

In addition to membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Mr. Procopio is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and has served on the Greater Philadelphia Chapter's Committee on Legislation and Local Taxation as well as two previous terms on the Executive Committee. Mr. Procopio earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from La Salle University and his Master of Science degree (Taxation) from Philadelphia University.

City of Philadelphia Department of Revenue

Tom Wismer is the Director of Accounting Operations for the City of Philadelphia Department of Revenue. He is in charge of the Electronic Government Unit and the Accounting Control and Payment Processing Divisions.

Mr. Wismer joined the Department of Revenue in 1981 right out of Drexel University after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He worked as an Accountant in Water Revenue until 1987 when he was appointed Accounting Supervisor of Accounting Control for Tax Revenue. In 1997 he was appointed Accounting Transaction Supervisor. In 2003 when the Real Estate Tax System was merged into the Tax system he was appointed Revenue Accounting Manager.

Mr. Wismer has been a part of the Revenue Department for over 30 years and has gained through experience a considerable amount of knowledge regarding the City of Philadelphia's Tax Operation.
