HIGHLIGHTS

The rule making bodies in the accounting profession have been active over the past year. The presentation will cover new accounting and auditing developments with emphasis on those pronouncements which are relevant to private and public companies. The pending accounting pronouncement on revenue recognition will be covered as will new developments in the classification and presentation of other balance sheet and income statement accounts. A Q&A session will also occur at the end of the presentation.

Patrick Pruitt, CPA, is a partner with the global accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP. He has worked in a diverse group of industries with the firm including manufacturing, retail, gaming, and service companies. He has assisted companies in various forms of their growth cycle- start-up companies looking for early stage funding to large organizations and access to the public capital markets. He has significant experience with registration statements and other filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and with financial reporting in general. Mr. Pruitt is currently serving on the AICPA task force which is rewriting one of the AICPA’s Accounting and Auditing Guides. He is also a co-author of the third edition of Ernst Young’s book for entrepreneurs on writing business plans and currently leads Ernst & Young’s alumni programs in the Philadelphia area. He has been a speaker on various accounting topics ranging from International Financial Reporting Standards to rule changes under generally accepted accounting principles in the United States. He is also a member of various professional societies within the accounting field including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
