NJ Department of the Treasury - Divisoin of Pension & Benefits

John D. Megariotis is currently serves as the Deputy Director of Finance at the Division of Pensions and Benefits, New Jersey Department of Treasury. He has been Acting Director since July of 2017. Has a total of over 34 years of experience working in the Treasury Department. He worked in the Division in accounting and administrative positions from March 1983 through October of 1990. From November of 1990 to November 1996 worked as a Divisional Fiscal Manager within Treasury Administration-Office of Fiscal and Resources. From December 1996 through August of 2003 was Assistant Director, Finance for the Division of Pensions and Benefits. From September 2003 through June 2017 was Deputy Director, Finance for the Division of Pensions and Benefits. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a major in Accounting from Rider University and has been Certified Public Accountant since 1987. He is an active participating member of the Government Finance Officers’ Association of the United State and Canada and the National Association of Governmental Defined Contribution Plan Administrators (NAGDCA).

Marc Pfeiffer, retired, has worked in New Jersey State and local government policy and administration for 37 years. He also served as the acting executive director of the state’s Government Records Council at the time of its formation in 2002 and served as a municipal administrator for 10 years in several New Jersey municipalities. He has served as an adjunct professor in public administration in the master of public administration program at Kean University from 1988 through 2002. He holds an M.P.A. with a major in labor relations from New York University and a bachelor's in urban affairs from American University.
