HIGHLIGHTS

Moving Your Firm to the Cloud
Marc Mintz, CPA, CITP, CGMA – Marc Mintz & Associates, LLC
Cloud computing is evolving like never before, with firms and companies of all sizes adapting to this new technology. Technology experts believe that this significant trend will continue to grow and develop in the coming few years. While cloud computing is undoubtedly beneficial, it is not without its risks especially in a regulated and security sensitive environment like financial services. So what does this mean to the accounting profession? What are the benefits of utilizing the cloud and more importantly the risks? Who are the vendors in the proverbial sky, and how do you know you can trust them with your data—or your clients’ data, for that matter? During this session we will answer some of these questions, explore the advantages and key challenges of cloud computing, discuss the future of the cloud and service opportunities for CPAs in the cloud.
